Foundation X
Well there has been a lot of talk about Foundation X recently on the web.
It is certainly a most interesting speech by Lord James of Blackheath (see link)

It makes you wonder who these people could be? I mean who owns most of the Gold in the world anyway?
There was a reference to the Vatican - so perhaps there is a connection there? I thought China had large Gold reserves...
Perhaps it does not matter who these people are - it is perhaps more important as to what they want.
I am sure they are not going to hand over billions of pounds worth of Gold for nothing in return.
If these people were saints and loved humanity then perhaps this money could be accepted. But if these people are demon possessed crazies - then it seems like a scary prospect to take this money without finding out what the requirements are. Do the governments have to sign onto some sort of population reduction program? Perhaps an oppressive green agenda? - Who knows.

It is also interesting that he talks of the Bank of England laundering money for the IRA - I mean WHAT? And Africa terrorists? I guess the Bank of England must be quite untouchable if this can be admitted without fear of an investigation.
Odd to hear this sort of thing being talked about in the House of Lords - but I guess I never really listened to them before...

Thanksgiving 2010
Well Thanksgiving has come and gone for this year.
It has been a busy time. We finished teaching the children's group about it on the Tuesday night. I am not sure if they really understood everything - but there we go. They learned that they should be thankful, which is good. They also learned to sing some songs - which they did in front of the Church.
We are hoping to go through a series on the incarnation of Jesus Christ. It should be profitable.
Wednesday was preparation and Stacy's side of the family came from North Carolina (9 to 10 Hours drive!!!). They will leave Saturday morning - so it is a short and sweet stay.
Thursday was hectic with getting the food ready and having to worry about the three children all the time. I started the day by doing 3 miles on the elliptical machine and some weights with a protein shake. I then took a shower and dressed as a pilgrim.
The rest of the day was filled with Shaun the Sheep to keep the children occupied. It was the only thing that seemed to 'do the trick' as it were. We probably got through all five DVD disks! (the complete series 1 !!).
Anyway - there was a time where we went out side and the children got into trouble all the time and got muddy. After lunch we all went to the park (Tribble Mill). We were all so tired. I don't know were the children got the energy - we all wanted a nap - but the children never got tired. They even went to bed late.
Later that evening we watched 'An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving' which was a period drama about a a lady who lost her husband and was struggling to provide for the family. She was a nurse and always doing good to the detriment of her own life. Anyway - her daughter wrote to her grandma pretending to be her and asked for financial help. The grandma, who was very rich, came to visit. The daughter had fallen out with her and didn't want her help. The grandma found out it was her granddaughter that wrote and thought it was interesting. The grandma stayed with them and got to know her granddaughter and took her out on shopping sprees and such like. She also offered her an opportunity to study and travel to 'broaden her horizons'. The grandma and the spirited granddaughter got on very well. The Grandma ends up buying the farm that they are all living in. The grandmothers daughter is well angry about the whole thing. Anyway the mother ends up getting Scarlet Fever from a family that was dying from it. She manages to survive and also managed to forgive her rich mother. They have a great thanksgiving. That's pretty much it.
Most of the visitors did not make it to the end and went to bed. Stacy's mum and me were left. The next thing I know it was 2:00 in the morning and I was sleeping on the sofa. Looks like I did not make it to the end either.
In the busy events of the day we did not manage to get time for a Bible reading or a time of thanksgiving - which was disappointing. We agreed to do it the next day over breakfast - but we never did.
Mike was worried about his car as he had to drive it 10 hours on Saturday and it seemed to lose power or something at low speeds. He wanted to find a Ford dealership to check it out. So as soon as we ate our omelets and toast )i,e, breakfast) we were on the road to the Mall of Georgia. The ford dealership was close by. Some guy drove in the car and said it was ok to drive it to NC. It was a transmission problem where the unit needed a re-torque and an oil flush.
We ended up meeting the ladies at the mall afterwards. It was Black Friday - which means it was one of the busiest shopping days of the year. I reluctantly went and saw no bargains whatsoever. In fact mike brought tickets for the carousel in the mall (11 of them). Solomon got a bit scared for some reason - so he never went on again. Michael and Michaela went on four more times after that. We then went to Barnes and Noble. I was looking for bargains and found none. Solomon played with a wooden train set with Thomas the tank engine characters. I could not find the gardening section - and by the time I found someone to ask and actually found the books - it was time to go! I did not even get to read anything!
So - we met up with the ladies again and we decided to go home. I had a quick look in the Apple Mac store to see their bargains. That was wishful thinking as there was $5 off $80 things. Pretty poor really. I saw some nice headphones I wanted - but they were $80!! I mean - what on earth! It was $30 for a normal pair of earphones. That is ridiculous. I will be looking on-line for something a little cheaper.
Anyway - we got home and ate some of the leftovers from Thursday. We were all so very tired - but had to endure more shaun the sheep. At 3:00ish Mike wanted to watch american football. The children were not interested in it and were getting up to all sorts of trouble. The rest of us were playing the Phase 10 game and trying to keep the children in control. There was lots of food and cake and stuff going round.
Evening came and we played phase 10 again. The children watched Shaun the Sheep and Timmy Time.
The 'grown-ups' then wanted to watch Columbo. It will be interesting to see if they make it to the end without falling asleep. Stacy is already snoring. Mike looks gone. Sandy does not look awake. Franks is awake and so is Micheala!

Roasting
Well it's Monday and late. Monday was horrible as usual. Not as horrible as last Monday where I had to do over time - but bad enough.
I really need to retire as quickly as possible. That may be aged 70 the way my finances are going though... hey I may even die before retirement then I won't have to worry about it :-) anyway...
The roast dinner yesterday went well. Potatoes were a little bit too crispy. The yorkshire puddings were slightly burnt on the bottom (I think the oven was too high - though I did wait until the tops were golden brown - but never thought about the bottoms.)
I forgot to serve the sage and onion stuffing - but managed to retrieve it from the carcass cavity in the middle of the meal (this was done very discretely - the guests may not have eaten it if they saw me spooning the onion and sage out of the rear end of the chicken).
I served with carrots (sliced in an oval fashion cooked with butter, nutmeg and salt and a little sugar), Green Beans and a small amount of cabbage. The only reason it was a small amount of cabbage was because it disappeared while cooking. I had a large pan full of cabbage and I was certain it was more than enough. 5 Mins into boiling and the cabbage had gone down by 70%. We got a spoon full each..
They gravy turned out great thanks to Stacy's help. I managed to spoon out half a mug of pure fat - which made the gravy a low fat (or half fat) gravy.
I was catering for 7 people (and Solomon) so it was a bit stressful. I even heated the plates to keep the food hot while I served up the 7 plates. I think they were a little too hot though as I managed to burn a ring mark into our white work top. There is no telling what sort of damage that could have done to the table - or to someone's hand...
2 or 3 of the guests had not eaten a British roast dinner before so it was all a new experience. I think one of them was used to chop sticks more than cutlery - but she done well.
Even though my plate was roasting hot and I was the last one to be served - my dinner was a little cold. I could not understand that - but there you are. I hope the other dinners were hot - but I guess I will never know...
We are going to have to do all this again soon this Thursday for thanksgiving. The difference is that it will probably be more of a serve yourself thing. We will have four adult guests and two children. So that is 9 all together (including Solomon). We have a large turkey lined up.
We will be at Church tomorrow. I am supposed to be teaching the Children that turn up on Wednesdays via the Bus ministry. The age range is 5 to 12. We have been having over 20 since we started and we are now getting close to 30 children. They are mostly unchurched children that know little about the Bible. They are a bit of a handful - but we are learning how to cope with them. Thankfully we have plenty of helpers now - we certainly need it.
Tomorrow concludes our study about the Pilgrims and Thanksgiving. I am going to dress up as a pilgrim for effect. It's all good fun...
Maybe some of it will sink in.
Well it's that time for bed again. We have so much cleaning up before our family gets here - it's unbelievable. Hopefully Stacy can sort it out tomorrow.. :-)

Children's Birthday Party
We got back from a children's birthday party. A child of a person I know through work. The child was called Jeremiah and he was 3 years old.
It was an amazing house. An ex-show room actually. People's houses seem to be big and nice over here in the USA. I don't know where people find the money really.
Anyway - Solomon was up to his usual tricks. Running about the garden and into the woodland area. He seems to love nature and things. He does not seem to want to play with other children for some reason - but perhaps he needs to get to know people or something...
He is waking us up in the morning now. He gets out of the crib and opens doors - turns on lights and so on. He is quite difficult to deal with at times. He is able to say a few more things now. He tells me to 'go!' or 'come here'. He is very assertive.
We are having Sunday roast tomorrow - British style. I think this is the first proper roast I have cooked since being here. I have prepared sage and onion stuffing using some of the sage from the garden. We are having a few guests - so I hope it works out well.
We are very tired now. I made Stacy coffee earlier but we are still whacked.
Bed time soon I think.
I updated the LWT website last night. TheLordsWorkTrust.org
Some great open air preaching on there now. Hoping to add more over time.
I need to sleep now - bye!

A day not so sick.
My Day today has been ok.
the Neti pot is the best cold remedy I have ever tried. It really makes having a cold bearable.
It has been a stressful day at work with one thing or another. I thought I would relax and update my websites while watching Jesse Ventura on TruTV.
It's all about the assassination of JFK tonight with the airing of the deathbed confession of E. Howard Hunt (for the first time on TV).
The best show so far has been the 2012 one where they explore all the underground cities being build all over america. In particular under Denver Airport. It's very odd that the rich are spending billions on these underground camps for 2012. I mean they really must believe all this stuff!
Anyway - It's neti pot time and Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura (real name James George Janos).
Bye for now!

Bugger! Boo!
I thought I had finished posting today, but I have just received some shocking news.
One of my favourite restaurants in our area has very likely closed. I have not confirmed 100% but I went to their website and clicked on 'locations' and I could not select 'Georgia' any more.
Apparently they have closed loads of places nationwide due to financial problems. There was no warning. Employees turned up for work and there was a notice on the door.
That restaurant was Bugaboo Creek. I will miss their Fireside Sirloin Skillet Tips with caramelized onions over sauteed mushrooms in a cast-iron skillet with Smashed potato and fresh steamed vegetables.
Oh why oh why oh why!!!????
We also had a $20 gift token to use up there. The selfish so and soes!
I will have to cut up my loyalty card now - unless I fly to New York or something...
I wonder if they will be selling off their animated animals to the public? I could really do with a talking moose head above the fireplace. Maybe an animated badger in the corner with some moving squirrels dotted about.
This is tragic news. You really appreciate something when it is taken away... gone forever.
Why didn't we eat there more? We could have saved the place. They never told us that they were struggling. How were we to know?
but at least Longhorns is still going strong... for now...
We may have to settle with Golden Coral for now though. Times are hard.

A day sick
Well my blog started because I was sick and bored. I have been thinking of creating one for a while, but could never see the point considering that no one will read it. But maybe I am wrong about that.
A Blog
Pros:
-We can post stuff to people who care about the trivial experiences of our lowly dreary lives. There may only be one person interested and she is my mum.
- Perhaps others will be inspired by our lives to live enriched and happy lives themselves.
- We can pass on knowledge to the world.
Cons:
-Big Brother will know more about us which may lead to a thought crime conviction and I will then end up in a fema camp.
- Perhaps advertising agencies will collect data about us to know what films and books we read so they can target us with stuff that we may actually be interested in buying.
All in all - I am going to try this blog thing and see where it goes.
Today I have been battling a cold. In fact most of the day I have been laying in bed.
It's rare that I cannot physically get out of bed, but this morning was one of those rare occasions.
I don't know if I am getting old or what - but it just seems colds are worse than I remember when I was young. I don't remember ever being off work or school because of a cold.
Today my head hurt most of the morning and my eyes felt like they were trying to pop out. By body seemed to ache all over. Yesterday I hardly slept at night due to my face hurting and the fact I could hardly breath. My body seemed to ache all over.
Unless this is the flu or something... but I know what flu is like and it was not that bad.
My flu experiences have been pretty bad. They were accompanied with a headache so bad that it almost made me what to die. I could not move. I could not read. I could not watch TV as any concept seemed too complicated for my brain. I was sensitive to light. I could not cook as I was too weak to stand for very long. Getting a drink or going to the bathroom was a hassle. No drugs I could take seemed to help. Getting the drugs was a hassle and took all my energy.
If left to myself I probably would have died of starvation or dehydration - but thankfully family and friends helped.
I understand why people, in their desperation, resort to getting the flu jab, as flu is tough going. Especially if alone.
So - thinking about how bad the flu is has made me thankful that I just have a cold. As bad as that seems it could be much worse. Ebola on the other hand would be quite serious and I am especially thankful I don't have that today.
Anyway - my wife recommended using a Neti pot. This was an interesting experience. There are videos on YouTube if you want to see a demo.
It basically involves putting a salt solution into one nostril and waiting for it to pour out the other. It cleans out the nasal passage. I think it works. I have been breathing ok since so it must do something good. I also took pain killers and a mucus suppressant.
I started feeling better about 4pm, but I still feel a bit fragile.
I really hope I feel better tomorrow.
That concludes the blog for today!
Lance.
