Fragile State - Undercurrent (Alucidnation Downtempo Mix).
Love the use of the synth in this.
This blog is a catalogue of the stuff going on in my life. Some stuff is on here just for educational purposes. Some is just posted to keep my family updated. It's an alternative to Facebook.

Great Songs No. 3
Wish you were here.
Can mean different things to different people.
Officially it is about Syd Barrett - a member who went crazy on drugs. He probably lost his mind - so 'Wish you were here' probably meant normal reasoning consciousness.
To me I can look at this song in many different ways. The dreariness of life at times. The wish that someone was 'here' as in on your wave length. Perhaps someone that has lost everything and has become despondent to life itself. The second verse is probably saying 'it's not that bad is it?'
"The same old fears" - perhaps a wish to get out of the comfort zone? To break beyond mental barriers?
Great Songs No. 2
The songs I post are in no particular order of favoritism.
This song has been with me since 1992 when it first came out. Perhaps an all time favorite. Love the video also. Not sure if all these people are actors or not. Probably are - but it's nice anyway. Apparently it is filmed in Los Angeles.
Sorry if you get an advert before the song - but this is the official video put out by EMI. You Tube does that now...
I was always fascinated by the clinky sound throughout the song and realised one day that this must be glass being hit by metal. Must be an orchestral instrument of some description....
I always wondered if I could duplicate it with some glasses filled with different amounts of water and hit them with a spoon.
No lyric analysis here. Obviously it hurts to love someone and they don't love back.

Great Songs
I have decided to feature great songs I have found in my time on earth.
Some Spiritual - some not.
Some songs are like poetry but set to music. This is obvious - but some lyrics have deep meanings that are tricky to really figure out.
First off is Neil Young and Only Love can Break your heart. I was used to the Saint Etienne version - but I think Neil's version has more tenderness about it. I like tender songs at times.
Great video. Don't think this can be the original. Funny how everyone was amazed a camera. Seem like very different days.
As with the meanings - it seems simple enough - but who is the friend he has never seen who hides his head inside a dream? How can someone hide their head in a dream anyway?
Someone should call him to see if he will come out? How can this be. If you have never see someone how do you know that they are there to call? I'm confused. Still a nice song though.

May Garden Update
SFG No.1 - Peas are out of control. They must be 3 to 4 ft tall! I wonder how high they would have been without the net stopping them going any further... |
They taste great by the way. I even eat the shell (in a stir fry). There are loads of them! |
Broccoli is starting to shoot. Looking good. |
Carrots are coming... |
Strawberries are getting smaller. I have had quite a few tis week. Taste great. |
The first tomato of the season. Odd that I am getting them now. I was hoping the plant might be taller first. |
Tomato plants are starting to grow. Need to be much higher. |
Corn Field |
Pole beans starting to take hold of the netting. Four have made it so far... |
Bush beans are starting to go crazy. Hope the coriander can grow beside them.. |
The biggest mellon plant so far... |
Kiwi - Starting to climb. A long way to go yet! |
some flowers next to my Lavender. |
Seems like melons like growing in the compost heap. Be interesting to see how far they get... |
Cinnamon covered Ezekiel Bread - done the wrong way. It feels like a house brick. I wonder if it is as strong... |
Some flowers around the front. They seem to be going ok. |

Stone Mountain in around 30 mins.
I went to stone mountain after work and this is what happened:
I spent about 5 mins or so up there - so really I completed stone mountain in about 30 minutes.
So really this is a hill - not really a mountain by any normal standard.
When I went to Snowdon in Wales it took us 8 hrs to complete the full Horse Shoe...

Shooting with Golf Carts
I went 'Skeet' shooting with Chris from the baptist Church I go to. Skeets or Clays is what Americans call Clay Pigeon shooting.
I took my pump and Chris had a semi-auto. Mine had a choke that sprayed out the lead in a larger area. Chris worked with a choke that had a tighter lead spray.
The final score was:
Chris got 79 clays out of 100
I got 45 clays out of 100.
I could certainly improve. Chris said hunting was actually harder.
I would like to shoot Turkeys. I don't have much compassion for them and it would make thanksgiving a little less expensive (maybe!?).
This is Chris and his semi in action. He hit a lot of clays. Even true pairs (two at a time!).

It was like golfing - but with shotguns. Each station (and there were 14 of them) had a par. At the end we could then add up our scores to see how well we did. We chose a 100 shot course.
Here is one of the clay throwers. This particular one shot one that was like a Rabbit across the floor which would jump up randomly. I did not manage to shoot any rabbit styles - they were hard!
Redneck training in progress...
The Pump was OK, but I am sure a double barrel or a Semi-Auto would be better for double shots.
My shoulder was starting to ache near the end. There was a red mark and it was a little sore when touched. This lasted a couple of days - nothing major.
Here is some video:
