Coughs

Here is my total knowledge on coughs (from experience). I hope this helps someone else with bad coughs.

After a cold I usually get a cough. A dry cough. This cough can last months and is usually very annoying - not only to me but the people around me.
It usually weakens my back and I end up with back issues. It really takes it out of me.

I went to see a specialist once and it went nowhere.

A local herbalist sold me some Drosera tablets once to help my persistent cough. They were made by Weleda (UK). The bottle read 'Drosera 30' but I am not sure what the 30 means - max strength I think.

Here is some info on the plant. Weird plant. Weird that it helps coughs....

The tablets helped the cough - stopped in within a week or so (this was a six month cough).

Anyway that was then. I have had coughs since and Drosera does not always work.

The latest cough was cured by the "Neti pot!"

I noticed that when I got hot and bothered the cough would get very bad - like I was going to die.

I looked online for natural cures and they were talking about honey and lemon and gargling with salt... usual stuff. Then one site talked about how sinus blockage can cause a cough. Maybe this was the issue...?

Well - to clear my sinus I used the Neti pot - with the saline solution.
BTW - don't ever use it without the salt! - it feels awful - like when water got in your nose at the swimming pool and it felt really horrible.

After the rinse my cough almost stopped the same day! Awesome!

My cough is back, not sure why - could be the changing weather, but it's not even close to how bad it was. I guess I need another sinus rinse.

Oh - and don't use tap water for sinus rinses. You could die.

I used filtered water.

I hope this helps someone - it has only taken years of coughs to reach this point...
