Talking on phone is now "Suspicious" behavior.

Some are calling it Hysteria - but the new Walmart 'see something say something' campaign caused some guy to be detained for talking on a cell phone.

Arguments do happen and in the privacy of your car you should be able to talk on your phone without having to worry about being detained because of some 'do gooder' thinks you have a gun and are going to shoot yourself.

I mean - the nosey do-gooder could have knocked on the door and asked the man if he was ok. But oh no - this was suspicious behavior! This needed a police hero to handle this man. Perhaps he looked angry and threatening? But if it was known that he was on the phone (maybe to a wife or family member) then all would have been explained.

This reminds me of my neighbor. I found a dead 'thing' under my deck and it was rotten. So bad that I could hardly lift it up without it falling apart. It smelt so bad I almost puked. I felt sick all day after smelling that thing. Anyway - the only way I could think of getting rid of it (and the disease) was to incinerate it (i.e. burn it).
So I started a fire that morning and started to spade the remains of the animal on the flames.

Within 5 minutes there was a fire truck outside my front door. They told me it was a no-burn day.
I mean - what on earth?
Some neighbor up the road decided to call the fire department at the first sign of fire.
The only problem with that is that he did not even bother to find out what I was doing - where I could have explained everything.
But oh no - that is far to much trouble. I mean - that takes social interaction! No - instead he calls the 'authorities' on me and closes me down. I actually had to hose down the fire.
Perhaps he was too cowardly for a confrontation with me. Who knows? (I still don't know who it is).

So anyway - there was a half baked animal on my garden mixed in with some wood and half burnt carboard. The animal did not smell so bad - so I waited for an official burn day and burnt it again. While doing this I over heard some guy say 'they are burning leaves again.'

Perhaps he called the fire dept. that day and found out that I was actually allowed to have a fire that day! :-)

But what ignorance! Like I wanted to burn leaves for fun? He did not even seek out what I was doing (again).
Because of that comment I burned a load more stuff that needed burning! (and no - I did not burn any leaves).

This is the mentality of some people and God help us as we try and live normal lives without being snitched on to the 'authorities'.

I mean - this is what children do right? Tell on each other to the teacher/parent?

So - back to Walmart:

What if people started reporting Walmart workers as suspicious? Are they above suspicion. I mean there could be a Walmart employee terror network right?

If the workers were constantly being reported on and investigated - then there would be none to run Walmart. Then what would they do?
They would have to close down and lose money etc.

I am not promoting a snitch on Walmart employees campaign - but it would be an interesting twist on the situation :-)
